SharePoint Retreat

Andrew Woodward organised and hosted the worlds forst SharePoint Retreat in London on 10th July. The aim of SharePoint Retreat is to help developers practice the fundamentals of software development, but like all things in the SharePoint community we intend to keep this SharePoint focused, so developers practice the fundamentals of SharePoint development.

The European Best Practices conference was one to be remembered, it really raised the bar with regards to how a SharePoint event should be. In 2010 Steve and the Combinded Knowledge team have promised to raise the bar even further with SharePoint Evoultions 2010. SharePoint Evolution

    The Best Practices Conference has expanded and rebranded and now covers SharePoint and SQL Server. In August from 24-26, 2009 it is returning to Washington, D.C. with a massive agenda over 7 tracks from SQL Developers to SharePoint Information Works and everything in between. With a yet another great speaker line up you are sure to find those improtant nuggets of information to take away.

    I blogged recently about the increase in information around SharePoint in Education and it is a pleasure to be able to speak at the first Learning Gateway Conference on 15th July 2009 – The Belfry, Birmingham, UK.

    Speaking at the Best Practices™ SharePoint Conference

    It is an great privilege to have been selected to speak at the Best Practices™ SharePoint Conference in San Diego, CA, February 2nd thru 4th 2009.

    This conference is an independent event that was first run in Washington DC and proved to be a great success.  Looking at the Speakers lined up and the agenda covering 6 tracks this confernce is going to be the SharePoint conference to attend.

    There was also the traditional SharePoint by Day, SharePint by Night evening event

    Bringing the best of the San Diego and Washington confernces to Europe and mixing top speakers from Europe, the European Best Practices™ SharePoint Conference comes to London from April 6th thru 8th 2009.

    This event was one of the best conferences I have had the pleasure to attend.  Well done to Steve Smith and the Team at Combined Knowledge (especially Zoe) for this.

    We are regular attendees and speakers at one of the worlds biggest SharePoint User Groups.

    The SharePoint User Group is a vibrant community with over 4000 members, and active online forum and great meetings across the UK. Membership is free, we have some great events which are also free with great speakers. Visit http://suguk.org to sign up.

    Recently we had over 200 people at the event in London.

    The next event we are attending is in Edinburgh at the Scottish Parliment on Thurs 27th November. There will be two great sessions for this second Scottish SUGUK meeting.
