Email transfer from PC to Mac OS-X

To transfer emails and contact details from Outlook or Outlook Express on the PC to iMail on the Mac download and install Thunderbird. This will import all outlook emails into standard ‘mbox’ format and allow contacts to be exported as LDIF files both of which can be imported directly into the address book and iMail.

    I have just purchased a macbook pro and a desk top to replace my pc &,laptop . I was sick and tired of paying people to fix up my constant virus issues and the slowness etc. that we have all suffered from for many years.

    Now my problem is learning this new format. I also installed Office for Mac but can’t seem to be able to transfer onto this?? Maybe should have just gone straight to apple system! Anyway your advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I have to confess that I haven’t taken to the Mac OS at all. I have a iPhone and love it but for PC work i’m still firmly in the Windows camp.
