Patrick Tisseghem has posted a good rant (with useful update) on the fact that MOSS 2007 cannot do wild card searches ‘out of the box’.

..also looks like Patrick continues to enjoy his beer! – I for one am looking forward to another U2U course and sampling many more Belgium beers.

UPDATE: Mike Harrison has posted about Ontolica providing a wildcard update to MOSS for free .

I have not used the Ontolica search products so cannot comment on them however it may also be worth looking at the progress Goggle has been making with the open source sharepoint connectors for the Google Appliance.
